Which way does the vinyl go on the mat.
In many if not most iron on vinyls the vinyl side is matte and the carrier side is shiny.
If the vinyl sticks to the transfer tape simply burnish the vinyl onto the surface again.
That way your mirrored design gets cut into the vinyl itself allowing you to remove the vinyl that does not need to be transferred to your project.
Carefully place the transfer tape with vinyl images onto your surface as you would like them to appear.

If the vinyl does not separate from the liner simply burnish the transfer tape onto the vinyl and peel away again.
That s why they say to cut it shiny or glossy side down on your mat.
You then load the cutting mat and your material into the cutting machine and voila magic.
Place vinyl on cutting mat.

Peel away the vinyl liner at a 45 degree angle.
Then continue to peel the transfer tape away from the vinyl.
Most basically a cutting mat is a lined piece of plastic that has one sticky side.
