If you want light grout use white thinset. Also after installation continue to seal your stone at least one time a year to prevent future staining. White is usually used for walls and counters and gray for floors. You can also choose the color based on location.

The contractor swears that there is no way that the grout stained the stone and that the grout is just making the stone look darker. If you use dark grout use gray thinset. In conclusion ensure if you re going to install white marble or light stone use a white colored thinset and portland cement or waterproof system. I am about to tile my final room.
